Firearms Safety Courses!
CFSC - Non-Restricted:
All persons eligible and wanting to apply for their Canadian Possession and Acquisition License (PAL)
are now required by law to attend and successfully pass the RCMP mandated Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC).
Attending this mandatory class and successfully passing the written and practical exams qualifies you to apply
to the RCMP for your Non-Restricted PAL (aka, Firearms License.)
The class is a minimum of 8 hours teach time (excluding breaks & lunch) followed by the written and practical exams.
Depending on you, the time spent on the exams will vary. Students have a maximum of 2 hours for the written exam,
and 1 hour for the practical exam. An average time for each exam is 30 minutes, and 20 minutes respectively.
CRFSC - Restricted:
All persons eligible and wanting to own Restricted Firearms (Handguns and some Rifles & Shotguns)
are required by law to attend and successfully pass the Canadian RESTRICTED Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC).
Proof of having attended and successfully passed the CFSC course is required before attending the CRFSC class.
You must show the CFSC Student Form, or your valid and current PAL, or a special form signed by the instructor
of the CFSC Course you attended.
The class is 4 to 6 hours in duration (excluding breaks & lunch) followed by the written and practical exams.
Depending on you, the time spent on the exams will vary. Students have a maximum of 2 hours for the written exam,
and 1 hour for the practical exam. An average time for each exam is 25 minutes, and 15 minutes respectively.
